I prefer to do this as a dagger sin myself.
[build prof=a/e dagger=11+1+3 shadow=10+3 crit=10+3 deadly=4+1][glyph of swiftness][deadly paradox][shadow form][goldden fox strike][wild strike][death blossom][critical agility][dash][/build]
That ways its infinate energy and kills fast. Can take out the aataxes if you take a prot bond hero too. My runs i tend to complete clear chamber then move onto plains. letting the hero die on the way.

First time I tried two days ago I did fine and got 3 ectos, but today I've done it 8 times and every time I had 4 behemoths spawn in the gateway which completely blocked me beyond any hope of getting past em. Horrible luck or stealth Anet update to nerf this farm? (Yes I am paranoid)

I went outside ToA and killed 2 groups of things, dunno if that helped but the next run there was only 3 Behemoths, and they were easy to get past...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with the spawns........

It used to before loot scaling :P
Aside from the obvious drop changes, some places changed spawns...or at least it sure seemed that way.

Lourens - you are too slow. Must get through mountais faster. I personaly use viper's defense build, and to run use cupcake. So take FDH or spam Dash.
But this situation is doable, just lure them to position where you stand on pic. and run out them with Dash. Is possible they hit you once or twice with Shock, but you can run out, but they will follow you to the Chaos plains and then kemping here so it will be annoying lure Spectras and riders

Well if you want to concoct wild theories, before I was entering through zin ku corridor but today I happened to be in elona so I was doing it through chantry.
EDIT: lo and behold. I went in through zin ku and only 2 spawned. Got 4 runs in, 3e, 5e, 4e and 5e.

Well I for one don't waste time trying to clear the imagined "farm code". Back when it was clearly in existence I'd go run a mission or two on my ele before going back to smite runs.
It certainly has nothing to do with the spawns of the behemoths. I've run a mission or two on my sin now and then for the first few days I was farming, it made pretty much zero difference in drops. In fact a couple of my worst ecto runs were after mission runs, so that theory is worthless imo. And btw my top ecto run, which was 9, was after like 5 straight runs.
If you have trouble with traps, I'd bring dash instead of dark escape/flame djinns. If there is a gap big enough to fit my sin through, I'll make it with dash. 25% speedboosts are iffy for not triggering traps, and if attaxe are following you at the first behemoth spawn, trying to trigger the traps the old way will get you bodyblocked on the traps and dead. If you have trouble with beating the blackness to the entrance, its 100% doable with dash alone. Its even possible to get past them with just dash, though it can backfire on you real quick.

Very nice build. I tried this and got 6 ectos in my first run, then 4 ectos, after that 2. Somehow I managed to fail a lot, hard to concentrate in this heat, forgot to put SF up a few times xD

So in your examples you've used 8 platinum on UW entrance fees and you've got 5 ecto worth say 4.6k each so 23k total. A profit of 15k and you say you're spending more than you're making?
Oh and the Behemoth spawns are just bad luck. I've had 5 runs on the trot where I couldn't get through the mountains. But I've also had 2 runs of 10e each so it works out in the end.

I started a Sin to farm with, and I need to know, which is better? The OP's build, or the Lavafont MoR build? By better I mean easier to use, faster. Or are they equal?

2. If they beat you to that spot, you can still get past them like this:- Wait until you've just recast SF so that you've got the full time to work with.
- Hit a Darkness with a flatbow/longbow. (Change back to your enchanting weapon so you don't forget.)
- Go up the small hill to your right. Make sure to avoid the Behemoths' traps. Go a little slow at first so that the Blacknesses come far enough that they'll decide to follow you up the hill.
- Run down the other side of the hill, past the Behemoths that the Blacknesses were parked by, past the last set of Behemoths, and out onto the Chaos Plains. You don't need a run speed boost to shake the Blacknesses, but you might need one to get past the traps since you can't stop to trigger them safely. Thanks to the little loop you led them on, the Blacknessess should be far enough behind you that they'll stop chasing.

The Lava font build seems quite a bit quicker to me.

just incase u didn't know, sup shadow arts runes are out at the run trader. in spamadan someone tried to sell one to me for 10k earlier lol. so i did some rune farming but got a sup vigor instead. then i checked trader again and saw a sup shadow arts so bought it quickly, a second later...it was gone (got it for 800g at trader).
ive almost finished preparing my new sin now, but my question is if its worth using a sup vigor rune for this farm, to get past the traps etc.?
